Bechamel Sauce

Bechamel sauce or white sauce is a sauce that is used in many kitchens as a base sauce, for example in French and Italian cuisine.Did you know that you can easily make béchamel sauce yourself? You only need butter, flour, milk, a pinch of salt and pepper and then you have bechamel sauce in no time.

Ingredients for Bechamel Sauce:


- 3½ oz ( 100 gr) unsalted butter

- 3½ oz ( 100 gr) all-purpose flour

- 4¼ cp milk

- salt, ground pepper to taste

- nutmegg


How to make Bechamel Sauce:

Melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir in the flour with a wooden spoon and continue stirring for 1 minute.

Using a whisk, gradually stir in the milk.

Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly to prevent any lumps, until the sauce is smooth and thickened to the texture of heavy cream, about 3 minutes.

Reduce the heat to low and continue simmering until the flour loses its raw flavor, 2 minutes. Season with the salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
