Ingredients for Meat Sausage Stuffing:
This recipe will stuff a 10 lb turkey:
- 2lb - 900g mixed ground beef, pork, and veal
- 12 oz - 350g sweet sausage, casing removed
- 2 onions, chopped
- 2 carrots, chopped
- 4 celery stalks, chopped
- 1 bunch parsley, chopped
- 1 tsp sage
- 4 tbsp olive oil
- ½ tsp dried thyme
- 1½ tsp dried rosemary
- salt and ground black pepper
- 10 mashed potatoes
Preparation the Stuffing:
Preheat oven to 356°F - 180°C.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet, cook the sausage and onions over medium heat, stirring and breaking up the lumps until evenly browned.
Add the celery, sage, parsley and thyme.
Cook, stirring, for 2 minutes to blend flavors.
Pour sausage mixture in bowl.
Heat in the same skillet some olive oil and cook the meat over medium heat, stirring and breaking up the lumps until evenly browned.
Pur meat mixture in bowl.
Add the mashed potatoes and season with salt and pepper and mix well.
Allow stuffing to cool completely before loosely stuffing a turkey.
